Ordinance - USA - Park Ridge may ban shuttle buses on some streets

Glenview,IL,USA -Pioneer Press Online, by JENNIFER JOHNSON -27 Apr 2006: -- Complaints of shuttle buses using some Park Ridge residential streets have resulted in a proposed ordinance before the City Council to ban the buses outright... Fines for violating the ordinance would range from $100 to $2,500, and violators would have to go before the city's adjudication court... The ordinance originated based on complaints from residents of the city's 7th Ward that hotel buses from Chicago and Rosemont were using their residential streets to avoid congestion on main roads... A shuttle bus is defined as a commercial vehicle designed to carry more than 20 persons to or from a commercial establishment...
