Fear of crime * UK - It's rising among bus passengers
Bus passengers are more worried about being robbed or attacked on their journey than they were three years ago

Researchers for the London Assembly's transport committee found the number of arrests made on buses has climbed steadily since 2004... There has also been an increase in code reds - emergency calls made by drivers - specifically about crime or antisocial behaviour... A spokesman for Transport for London (TfL) said this was partly because drivers had been encouraged to make the calls... The report, which was being discussed at yesterday's committee meeting at City Hall, says the removal of conductors and a lack of contact with drivers has made people feel less safe...
