Comparison - USA - New buses will help cut costs

Rochester,NY,USA -WHEC-TV -7 May 2006: -- Triple A said the average price of gas in Rochester is just more than three dollars a gallon. The price of gas keeps going up, but so is the number of hybrid vehicles on the road... Soon RTS buses will join the ranks. RGRTA bought 19 hybrid buses... The goal is to cut costs and keep fares at the same price. RTS paid twice as much for the hybrid buses compared to regular diesel-fueled buses, but officials said adding hybrids will save the city nearly 100-thousand dollars a year in fuel. That means bus riders will save money too... The new buses are expected to be up and running by next year...
