Transit agency OKs purchase Orange County,CA,USA -The Orange County Register, by JIM RADCLIFFE -May 8, 2006: -- The county’s mass-transit agency decided today to buy 249 compressed-natural gas buses – in part to prepare for a possible rush of passengers should motorists ditch their autos because of the skyrocketing cost of gas... With a unanimous vote, the Orange County Transportation Authority board agreed to pay $106 million for this round of CNG buses... In June the OCTA ordered 50 of them for $21.4 million as it prepared to convert is fleet away from diesel fuel...
