To Cut Air Pollutants - USA - Warwick fits its school buses with filter

WARWICK, R.I.,USA -AP/WLNE-TV/ABC6 (Providence,RI) -May 6,2006: -- Warwick is the first community in Rhode Island to fit all its 62 school buses with technology that would filter out as much as 90% of harmful emissions... The two-year effort was financed by a $350,000 grant from the U-S Environmental Protection Agency. EPA administrator Stephen Johnson says school bus emission are one of the leading causes of asthma in children. He says reducing the harmful pollutants created cleaner air and should lead to healthier students... The Warwick school buses are also using cleaner fuel, which may cost more per gallon than regular diesel but is more efficient in getting one or two miles more per gallon...
