It's all part of CAD/AVL (an acronym for computer aided dispatch/ automated vehicle locator), a new system using satellite technology that is being tested by bus systems in Champaign-Urbana, Rock Island and Lafayette, Ind... If the system proves to be successful here, mass transit systems in Portland, Ore.; Houston; Albany, N.Y.; St. Louis and Akron plan to adopt the technology later in 2006...
