Survey - UK - School bus service 'late, dirty and plagued by yobs'
Scotland,UK -Scotsman, by KEVIN SCHOFIELD -6 Dec 2005: -- PUPILS and parents have voiced serious concerns about the standard of Scotland's school bus services... A survey by the Scottish Consumer Council (SCC) revealed that 40 per cent of pupils were concerned about unruly behaviour on buses... Two-thirds of pupils said their bus had broken down in the past year and more than half said they never wore a seatbelt... Many pupils voiced concern at the conduct of school drivers, while only a minority of buses had adult attendants to monitor the children's behaviour... Graeme Millar, the chairman of the SCC, said "One of the most depressing findings is that young people in particular expect buses that are old, sometimes dirty, frequently late and not always reliable"...
