BUSES PURCHASE PROSPECTS * Canada - Province to spend $10 million on green buses
BC,Canada -ctvbc.ca, by Darcy Wintonyk -Nov. 05 2008: -- The provincial government says it will help B.C. school districts take polluting school buses off the road... The education ministry is providing just over $10 million dollars to districts to help with the purchase of 86 new clean diesel buses... The Province is also undertaking a pilot project testing five hybrid diesel-electric school buses, some of the first in North America... Buses must be at least 10 years old to qualify for the replacement funding and school districts can add improved catalytic converters to those vehicles that are ineligible for the provincial cash...
