Today, Assembly Bill 101 passed the State Senate and is making its way to the Governor’s desk which authorizes San Francisco to issue parking tickets to vehicles double-parked in designated transit-only lanes based on video evidence provided from forward facing parking cameras to be installed on San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency’s (SFMTA) buses... Newsom said cameras are another tool designed to improve the reliability and performance of Muni transit vehicles, which carry nearly 700,000 passengers each day, the second highest ridership in the state...
