Comment * Australia - Libs' bus backflip
"The facts of the matter are it is, today, impossible to deliver 120 buses in this coming year, and that's because of poor planning on the part of the previous Labor administrations."
Brisbane,Queensland,Australia -The Brisbane Times,by Daniel Sankey -September 12, 2007: -- That statement was made by Liberal councillor - and former public transport chair - Graham Quirk on June 4 this year in response to a plan put forward by Labor's Lord Mayoral candidate Greg Rowell... On a positive note - finally! - something is now being done to address the failures of Brisbane's bus system... Tomorrow, the council will approve a $20 million plan to put on the road 36 sweeper buses, which will pick up passengers left behind by buses on the city's 10 busiest routes during peak traffic times...
