* Australia - Mack names EGR as emission’s choice
Australia -ATN -10 Oct 2006: -- Mack Trucks today confirmed that each model in its 2008 range will use proven Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) technology to satisfy the pending federal diesel engine emissions regulation... The regulation, more commonly known as Australian Design Rule (ADR) 80/01 calls for a significant reduction in exhaust emission output and by January 2008, all heavy-duty vehicles will need to run engines that comply with this standard. Based on the current legislation, ADR 80/01 specifies that an 80 percent reduction in particulates and a 30 percent reduction in nitrous oxides is required to comply with the new regulation...
