At about 1:15 p.m. on Friday, one bus slowed down to let a car turn and a following bus rear-ended the lead bus, according to authorities... St. Mary's County sheriff's officials said about 70 people on the buses were taken to St. Mary's Hospital. Some were taken by ambulance while most of them were transported by a bus for precautionary...

Dhaka,Bangladesh -The Daily Star -6 Oct 2006: -- At least 35 people, mostly garment workers are feared drowned as a bus carrying them plunged into Bangshai river at Shalepur Bridge near Aminbazar yesterday... A survivor, Jarina, said there were around 45 passengers on the bus... Witnesses said the accident occurred as the driver suddenly swerved the bus to the left to let an overtaking car pass by amid drizzles. "As the driver swerved the bus, he lost control of it, and the bus fell into the river with eight feet depth of water just at the western side of Shalepur Bridge around 1:45pm," said a helper of a truck, Mohammad Israfil, who witnessed the accident... Chicago,Ill,USA -The Chicago Tribune, by Jon Hilkevitch -Oct 6, 2006: -- The Chicago Transit Authority has fired a bus driver who it said spewed an expletive-filled rant at an elderly widow who didn't display her reduced-fare pass quickly, officials said Friday... When told of the disciplinary action, the victim of the tirade said she wants a face-to-face apology from the six-year CTA bus driver and a promise that he won't retaliate against her...
* UK - 26 injured as bus and lorry collide
Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire,UK -Guardian Unlimited/Press Association -Oct 6, 2006: -- Humberside Fire Service said a total of 26 people were hurt in the accident on the A18... A spokesman said 17 were considered "walking wounded" and nine were more seriously injured in the incident. Of these nine, three were trapped in the wreckage and had to be released by firefighters, he said... A Humberside Police spokeswoman said the coach was in collision with the rear of a large skip lorry...
