USA - USD 418 to seek bids for new school bus
McPherson,KS,USA -The McPherson Sentinel, by CAROL DREILING -Sept 2, 2006: -- During Monday's Unified School District 418 Board of Education meeting, Ward Nippert, director of buildings and grounds, and Evan Stout, director of transportation, presented a request for permission to solicit bids for a new activity bus... Nippert advised that they have begun developing a specification sheet for the bus, which they list as a maximum 45 feet long with maximum storage under the floor and the maximum number of comfortable seats for those groups using it. As per previous board discussions, Nippert and Stout identified two units that meet the criteria: a new conventional school bus chassis with an activity bus body and a refurbished charter coach... The cost to replace the activity bus is estimated at $130,000 to $150,000... That item was budgeted in capital outlay for 2006-07...
*USA - State provides six new buses to Belen schools
Belen,NM,USA -TheValencia County News Bulletin, by Jackie Schlotfeldt -Sept 2, 2006: -- Belen Six new buses are scheduled to be delivered to the Belen Consolidated School District by the end of the year... Frank Romero, transportation coordinator, said it takes about six months to receive the buses once the request is put in... "Every 12 years, the state replaces buses, and right now, we have 11 that are eligible for replacement," Romero said. "It's nice because we really need them."...
