Services Cancellation - Ireland - Commuters face chaos as bus strike looms
Cork,Ireland -Irish Examiner, by Caroline O’Doherty -30 August 2006: -- Bus services across the country face cancellation tomorrow evening as drivers threaten an unofficial stoppage in protest at delays in providing new vehicles... More than 3,000 Bus Éireann and Dublin Bus drivers represented by the National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU) have said they will down tools at 7pm and not resume work until the normal start time on Friday morning... The union is angry an agreement to provide new buses for the national fleet, and in particular to service currently empty Quality Bus Corridors in Dublin, has not been implemented... Members also want to be consulted on plans for a new Dublin Transport Authority...
