LAYTON,OH,USA -Salt Lake Tribune/AP -25 June 206: -- The Utah Transit Authority is hoping the Global Positioning System will help reduce wait times on some of the state's busiest bus routes... The GEOTX Bus Stop Relocation Project, consisting of handheld GPS units and infrared passenger-counters, is designed to enable UTA to select where its bus stops are most needed and how to get buses there more quickly... The route from Salt Lake City to Ogden has more than 400 stops and has seen its on-time performance increase dramatically because of the project, said Bruce Hone, manager of performance information for UTA...
