Report - Canada - Cameras urged to spot stuck buses
Hi-tech solution will help traffic flow
Ontario, Canada -Ottawa Sun, by DEREK PUDDICOMBE -22 June 2006: -- City staff want council to buy several hi-tech cameras to help avoid the chaos that ensued last year after several buses got stuck in the snow and snarled traffic... At least eight articulated buses became stuck at the intersection of Eddy St. and Tache Blvd. during the Dec. 16 storm... The report recommends the city spend $800,000 on about 20 cameras... It suggests the cameras would "improve operational knowledge" for supervisors in a control centre, allowing them to better manage traffic if buses become stuck...
