Removing - UK - Transport boss admits bollards were mistake

Reading,England,UK -Reading Evening Post -8 Nov 2005: -- Bollards installed to stop double decker buses driving on to a kerb as they turn around were taken down a day later after the council admitted it was wrong to put them in... Reading Borough Council installed bollards outside The Three Tuns pub in Wokingham Road on Tuesday last week to prevent kerbs being damaged by buses making U-turns at the end of their route... But the obstructions were taken away the next day when council transport chiefs realised they should never have been there in the first place...
“Bollards were installed to protect the pathway but Reading Buses raised concerns that this made the manoeuvre more dangerous. The bollards have now been removed while the council looks at alternative ways of resolving the situation"...
