Hong Kong,China -The Standard, by Mimi Lau -Nov 07, 2005: -- Buses, not private cars and small vehicles, are the main cause of traffic congestion on Nathan Road in Mong Kok, drivers and district councillors say... Their comments were made Sunday at a City Forum debate over the government's controversial proposals to ease traffic and reduce accidents in one of the city's worst black spots... He said newspaper stalls, automatic teller machines and bus stops were the main obstructions along Nathan Road that force pedestrians to spill from footpaths... "The width of the footpath outside Allied Plaza is 4.04 meters, but the bus stop itself takes up 2.11 meters. It's the bus companies' favorite trick to build excessively large light boxes to charge more for advertising space," Chan said...
