Stars' Fight? - USA - Schwarzenegger's bus group duels with Beatty's at Montgomery Field
San Diego,CAL,USA -The Union Tribune/SignOnSanDiego, by John Marelius -Nov 6, 2005: -- The campaign for Tuesday's special election turned into a celebrity showdown in San Diego yesterday... Or maybe it was dueling buses as Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger embarked on a bus tour of Southern California to rally support for his four ballot propositions... The Schwarzenegger bus was trailed from San Diego to Anaheim to Riverside by a bus carrying actor Warren Beatty and his wife, actress Annette Bening, and the leaders of various labor unions opposing the Republican governor's agenda... Then it was off to Montgomery Field, where Beatty and Bening tried to enter Schwarzenegger's rally in an airplane hangar... The entrance was blocked by Schwarzenegger campaign volunteers and press aide Darrel Ng, who said only invited guests were allowed in... What might that something else be? That Beatty has emerged as such a visible Schwarzenegger critic has fueled speculation that the long-time Democratic activist might challenge him for re-election next year... Beatty demurred: "I don't want to run for governor," he told reporters, "I want to say what I think"...
