Trendy - USA - With high gas prices, commuter buses are the ticket

Riding the bus is becoming trendy in these days of costly fuel - especially if you can commute on a luxury coach
MN,USA -Minneapolis Star Tribune (subscription), by Joy Powell, Nov 4, 2005: -- When gasoline prices hit $3 a gallon in the summer, Tom Teale of Zimmerman, Minn., did something he never dreamed he'd do. He parked his pickup and began taking a bus to work... He rides the Northstar Commuter Coach, a luxury bus that has soared in popularity since gas prices jumped... "You can sleep. You can read. You can just sit there," Teale said. "There's literally no stress, and it's really convenient, too"... By taking the Northstar, he said, there's less wear and tear on him and his pickup, and fewer $80-to-$90 tankfuls of gas. Teale gets to work about the same time as if he drove, and sometimes faster... It's a far cry from spending spend up to 90 minutes driving through snarled traffic and listening to radio traffic reports... "I don't even bother with that anymore. That's the bus driver's problem"...
