Purchases - New Zealand - Union urges ARC to buy buses
Auckland,New Zealand -NewsTalkzb -1 Nov 2005: -- The Tramways Union is calling for the Auckland Regional Council to buy out Stagecoach buses... It follows reports the company is about to sell off its New Zealand operations to refocus on its core activities in the UK and America... Stagecoach operates bus and coach services in Auckland and Wellington, as well as Fullers' Ferries... Union spokesman Garry Froggatt says the company is keeping them in the dark about its plans, but says the ARC should repurchase the bus fleet and operate it themselves in the same way it is running the train service... Stagecoach is refusing to confirm or deny the British media reports...
