If approved by the highest authority in the civic body, the move is very much in line with the new policy of the municipality, which is aimed at involving the private sector in its many projects... Over the recent past the civic body has privatised a number of its operations such as waste collection and management, and projects like the recently completed Zabeel Park... According to the source even when the public transport service is privatised, the civic body will retain its authority as a regulator...
