Purchases? - New Zealand - Stagecoach says reports of NZ sell off 'speculative'
New Zealand -Stuff.co.nz/Sunday Times (UK) -1 Nov 2005: -- Scotland-based bus operator Stagecoach says weekend reports that it is putting its New Zealand transport business up for sale are "purely speculative"... But when asked directly if the reports - in London's Sunday Times - were inaccurate, a spokesman said: "I'm not prepared to say."... reported that Stagecoach - the rail and bus operator that runs Britain's largest train franchise - will sell the bus and ferries businesses it runs in New Zealand, which analysts believe could raise about STG100 million ($NZ252.8 million)... Potential buyers included Comfort Delgro, a Singapore transport group, one of the world's biggest listed land transport companies, is on the acquisition trail. It entered into a partnership with Stagecoach in September to run Scotland's Citylink buses. In August, it joined Australia's Cabcharge to buy Westbus buses in Sydney for almost $107 million...
