Production - Abu Dhabi - Australian firms to make buses in ADIC
Abu Dhabi,United Arab Emirates WAM/Emirates News Agency -13 Nov. 05: -- Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Support Group has entered into an agreement with the Australian bus maker Volgren to manufacture buses at the Abu Dhabi Industrial City (ADIC)... Sources told that the plant will have the capacity of making 300 buses (of 26 to 51 passengers) a year... ''Initial investment is put at Dh 75 million and is expected to be raised latter to Dh 125 million.The plant is projected to go on stream by the end of 2006,'' they said, noting that buses would be used inside the UAE and surpluses will be exported to neighbouring GCC markets... They said that the buses would be fully made of the Australian decay-tolerant aluminum which give them long life, keep them light and consume less fuel... ''The buses will be air-conditioned and equipped with closed TV circuit and state-of-the-art safety systems".
