Superoutes * UK - Rolls out highway priority lane for buses
London,UK -Transport Briefing -16 Oct 2007: -- Gateshead Council has joined forces with Tyne and Wear passenger transport executive Nexus and bus operator Go North East to launch a new priority bus route. The council’s investment in a new bus lane alongside existing traffic lanes on the Felling by-pass will provide passengers with more reliable, frequent bus journeys to Heworth Metro station and on to the centre of Gateshead and Newcastle. It is the first of a new generation of Superoutes planned across Tyne and Wear to provide priority routes along main roads into urban centres...
