Transport Alternatives - Bermudas - Premier to take Number 8 bus to work today
Bermuda -Royal Gazette, by Scott Neil -July 20, 2006: -- Premier Alex Scott is due to catch a bus to work this morning to draw the public's attention to the need to find sustainable alternatives in everyday life... Mr. Scott had chosen today to opt for public transport to get from Paget to Hamilton, rather than use his chauffeur-driven car, as it coincides with the launch of the second round of public consultation on the draft Sustainable Development Strategy and Implementation Plan... He intends to board the Number 8 bus in a gesture he hopes will encourage other residents to find alternative ways of getting to work, at least one day a month, rather than using their car or bike...
