Emergency - USA - Pace buses to control U.S. 30 traffic lights
Joliet,IL,USA -The Joliet Herald News, By Bob Okon -27 June 2006: -- Pace buses would be able to control traffic signals on U.S. 30 just like fire engines and ambulances do with the help of $480,000 in federal funding... Bus drivers would be able to extend green lights or shorten red lights in order to stay on schedule... Similar technology now is used by fire departments in Joliet and other communities. Motorists see a white light flashing on top of the traffic signal, indicating that an emergency vehicle is on its way to the intersection...
