Spain - Retired Titsa buses travel the world
Tenerife,Spain -Fortnightly Tenerife News -15 May 2006: -- Tenerife’s public transport service Titsa has revealed it makes between €10,000 and €40,000 a year from the sales of its used buses... The vehicles are sold off – or sometimes given away – in mainland Spain or further afield. A total of around forty superannuated buses leave the Titsa fleet each year... Although the majority of vehicles are purchased in the peninsula by private companies for use as staff transport, some are given away to places like Cuba or Cape Verde... Titsa has a fleet of 557 buses...
