Satellite-controlled - Australia - Green light buses
Sydney,New South Wales,Australia Daily Telegraph, by SIMON BENSON -May 15, 2006: -- The first satellite-controlled buses, which can change traffic lights to green to avoid gridlock, take to Sydney streets in a fortnight... The buses will be fitted with global positioning systems to allow RTA Traffic Management Centre staff to monitor their movements. If the bus is running late, more "green light time" will be allocated... The Miranda corridor experiment will cost $2.5 million but will be the first of a $135 million investment in improving bus services...
