Only promises - Australia - Missing the bus
Tomorrow the State Government is due to launch its long-awaited transport and liveability statement. But as Melbourne heads towards gridlock, is it too little too late?

The State Government has built a very nice bus stop there — it just forgot to provide the bus... Nearby, at its Cranbourne sales office, a developer has a model of the new Hunt Club Estate. It includes the Cranbourne East railway station that Labor pledged to build — but never did... And over in Whittlesea, the council has pointedly left a gaping hole at the heart of its new South Morang town centre. That's where Labor promised to extend the Epping line to a new station — but didn't...
