Riders Penalization - USA - No-show clients of transportation service might be penalized
DART rules might change
Central Midlands,S.Carol,USA -The State, by CLIF LeBLANC -Nov. 05, 2005: -- Memory lapses or the lack of common courtesy might start costing disabled riders on the Columbia-area’s fleet of minibuses... The Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority is weighing whether to start penalizing riders who make Dial-A-Ride Transit reservations then fail to show up or to properly cancel them... If the proposal goes into effect, any rider who has three no-shows in a month would be barred for about a month from using the 21 minibuses that take the system’s 4,200 clients to the doctor’s office, to work or to the grocery store... Also, riders, who pay $2 per trip, would be required to cancel a reservation 24 hours in advance instead of the current one hour...
