SunLine rolls out its innovative, new $3.1 million hybrid
PALM SPRINGS,CAL,USA -The Desert Sun, by Keith Matheny -Nov 17, 2005: -- Some SunLine bus-users will soon be commuting in perhaps the world's most innovative bus: a more than $3.1 million, hydrogen-electric fuel cell bus that produces no - zero - hazardous emissions... It's one of only four of its kind in the United States... The bus' chassis was manufactured by Van Hool of Antwerp, Belgium. Its fuel cell was designed by UTC Power of South Windsor, Conn. The bus' electrical drive system and fuel cell were integrated into the chassis by ISE Corp. of Poway, Calif... The bus will be placed in regular transit service for Coachella Valley residents the first week of December...
