Hybrid Buses * USA - For Dayton RTA to roll out
A new fleet of eco-friendly buses will soon hit Dayton streets
Dayton,FL,USA -The Dayton Business Journal -March 25, 2010: -- The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority is rolling out 10 new hybrid buses within the next two weeks... The hybrids, which cost about $525,000 each, are expected to save 10 percent in fuel costs. They were paid for by a combination of stimulus money and air quality grant funding from the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission, said Mark Donaghy, executive director of RTA... RTA has 10 more hybrid buses on order, which are expected to arrive this fall. It has a total of 275 buses in its fleet, including 54 electric trolleys... The official hybrid bus rollout will take place April 5 at the Wright Stop Plaza Transit Center in downtown Dayton... RTA provides about 11.5 million rides a year in the Dayton region...
