NEW BUSES * USA - MTS Unveils Natural Gas-Powered Buses
San Diego,CAL,USA -10 News -October 7, 2008: -- The Metropolitan Transit System's brand news bus will be operated solely on compressed natural gas... The new 60-foot bus was unveiled Tuesday at the San Diego Convention Center... The bus features ramps for the disabled riders and could carry up to 80 people... The bus will replace older, diesel-powered buses... The transit district will put 26 of the new buses on the street, including to and from Charger games in a few weeks...

West Michigan,USA -mlive -11 Oct 2008: -- Pioneer Resources Inc., a Muskegon-based nonprofit organization that assists people with disabilities and disadvantages, was awarded a $357,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Transportation to buy five new buses... Three of the buses will be used to transport senior citizens in the new LifeCircles/PACE program housed at Tanglewood Park in Norton Shores. The buses will seat 22 passengers and are equipped with wheelchair lifts... The LifeCircles/PACE program is for people 55 and older who qualify for Medicaid and nursing-home care, but who still can live at home safely alone or with a caregiver. The program will open in December...
