DIGITAL ADS * USA - CTA Test Drives Digital Ad Screen on Side of Bus
Chicago,ILL,USA -The Chicago Tribune, by Jon Hilkevitch -23 Sept 2008: -- The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) debuted a digital ad on the side of one of its buses on Sept. 22, and intends to have over 1,500 digital displays placed on 100 buses and at all 144 CTA rail stations starting in 2009... The idea, fashioned after high-tech advertising on the transit system in London, is intended to raise revenue for CTA, which will get around $100 million from the 10-year agreement with Titan Outdoor. The technology will be tested on the Navy Pier bus route to determine the amount of power it uses and whether it can manage wear and tear...
