As the price of gas has climbed, so has the number of passengers using Metro Area Transit's busesOmaha,NE,USA -The Omaha World-Herald (subscription), by TOM SHAW -January 14, 2008: -- ... Ridership increased 5 percent from 2006 to 2007, according to MAT's year-end figures. Since 2004, ridership has jumped more than 17 percent. Ridership had been trending downward... Along with the increased use — and Omaha's annexation of Elkhorn — have come calls from some riders for improved bus routes and better maintenance of MAT equipment...
