BUS DRIVERS' SHORTAGE * South Africa - A challenge for 2010
Cape Town,South Africa -Independent Online, by Babalo Ndenze -January 15 2008: -- South Africa's bus industry is battling with a chronic shortage of drivers and with the 2010 World Cup looming, this will pose a "major challenge" for the country's public transport preparations for the soccer spectacle, according to the SA Bus Operators Association (Saboa)... Saboa represents some 76 percent of the buses used for public transport in South Africa. Its executive manager, Eric Cornelius, said the industry was already grappling with the problem of a shortage of bus drivers...
