Blind Passengers * China - Get Electronic Eyes
A bus station in china is the first in the world to introduce audio aid to blind commuters
hina -Just Heard Team (UK) -Sep 26th, 2007: -- ... Five partially sighted and blind commuters were the first to try out this service on the public transport. Passengers are issued with special controllers to activate audio warning as buses pull into stops. The warnings give users the location of the stop as well as information on other routes from the stops, directions plus times buses will arrive at destinations... The controllers will only work with new bus stations fitted with electronic information systems. This is an ongoing program being promoted and constructed over China and presently there are 34 stations in Shaghai waiting be fitted, all complete by the end of 2007...
