Powderly II -25 Sept 2007: -- Hybrid transportation is on the move as more and more municipalities are looking for shock value when it comes to traveling from point A to point B... Today, New York Sens. Charles Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton announced the U.S. Department of Transportation will split a little more than $1 million in Federal Transit Administration funds between the towns of North Hempstead and Brookhaven... The money will be used to buy hybrid buses and vans, equipped with handicapped access, to be used to offer elderly citizens transportation to doctors’ offices, supermarkets, social centers and other areas visited by seniors...Labels: buses purchase prospects
