BRTS routes - India - Pvt firms to run buses on
Ahmedabad,India -The Times of India -26 Sep 2007: -- For private operators to be engaged by the Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited (AJL) for the much-awaited Bus Rapid Transport System (BRTS), it would be a contractual job based on kilometres travelled by them... AMC officials, who were at the workshop, indicated that no permanent route will be allocated to any operator... The operator will have to invest in bus, handle maintenance costs, bus sanitation, payment to drivers, and take up fuel and spare parts costs, besides taking up other fixed costs, taxes and profit...
