The private bus company that services the western suburbs will delay the retirement of 19 of its oldest vehicles to provide a fleet of bright yellow buses to ferry people to the summit

Sydney,New South Wales,Australia -The Sydney Morning Herald, by Linton Besser -August 31, 2007: -- Bus commuters in Liverpool and Parramatta will have to put up with their 20-year-old buses just a little longer: Westbus is answering the call of the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation forum... Under a contract with the Federal Government, Westbus, or its parent, ComfortDelGro Cabcharge, is providing a total of 33 buses, for a maximum of 18 hours a day, for a two-week period from last Monday... While most of the buses supplied under the contract are brand new and have not yet seen service, a handful are being taken from the company's spare capacity, said the Westbus chief executive, Owen Eckford... Westbus's Sydney services have a total of 563 buses. ComfortDelGro Cabcharge has been steadily expanding its hold over the city's private bus industry, and has bought another private operator, Toronto Bus Services, for $14.5 million...
