Statistics * Qatar -Number of people using bus growing at fast pace
Doha,Qatar -The Peninsula -30 Aug 2007: -- The public transport in Qatar introduced by Mowasalat has been growing very fast with the number of passengers on the city buses increasing by about 10 per cent every month, according to Anthony Tallant, director, Mass Transit at the company... The company currently operates 164 city buses in 37 routes, with an addition of about 20 buses during the weekends. On an average, these buses are getting about 450,000 passengers in a week. The number of passengers in a single day goes up to 150,000 during the weekends, said Anthony, addressing a press conference yesterday...
