Mount Vernon,OH,USA -The Mount Vernon News, by Pamela Schehl -May 8, 2007: -- Monday was School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, a day designated by the Ohio Legislature to “increase public recognition of the important function that school bus drivers serve.”... The 20,000 school bus drivers in Ohio transport more than 1.2 million students over 170 million miles each year... The North Fork transportation department was recently evaluated by the state department of transportation, and placed in the top 2 percent in the state for efficiency of operation...
