* UK - Hit Roads for £1.4M
Derby,Scotland,UK -This is Aberdeen -18 April 2007: -- The drive to give Aberdeen the "best bus fleet in Scotland" has been given a £1.4 million boost... First Aberdeen has bought 10 high-tech vehicles... Joe Mackie, the company's commercial director, said: "At a cost of £140,000, each of these buses represent the very latest in technology and comfort for city centre public transport in the UK today... The buses, all single-decker, come equipped with low floor access, CCTV, cab protection screens and are fitted with Euro IV engines, which are 10-15% more fuel efficient than other engine types."...

* Singapore - Seating will ease congestion at doors
Singapore -TODAYonline, by Leong Wee Keat -18 April 2007: -- It is a common grouse among commuters — a long-awaited bus arrives, crowded at the front and the exit doors, but with plenty of standing room at the rear... With SBS Transit rolling out 100 new buses in July and new seating arrangements, the public transport operator hopes passengers will have a smoother rider... On these buses, two seats at the rear will be removed — reducing the seating capacity to 23. The extra space created would give passengers more standing room and encourage them to move to the back...
