* USA - SGA proposes new safe buses
St. Cloud,MN,USA -The SCSU University Chronicle, by Benjamin Sobieck -16 April 2007: -- If a recent proposal is approved, the familiar weekend equation of college students and cabs could soon take a U-turn toward diesel-powered mass transit... A new, yet-to-be-named bus route would operate in the late night hours Thursday through Sunday, solely for the purpose of delivering SCSU students safely to their residences. This transit initiative would work much the same way as the current relationship between SCSU-ians and the St. Cloud Metro Transit Commission (MTC) buses. Pick-up times would be posted, students would use their SCSU ID cards to gain entrance and the bus would drop off riders at designated stops... There is a stipulation to this, however. Students must approve a referendum permitting an increase in fees to cover the cost of the new bus route...
