* Viet Nam - 2 billion VND invested to monitor buses in HCM City
HCM City,VietNam -VietNamNet –25 Dec 2006: -- HCM City’s Transportation and Public Works Department will spend about 2 billion VND to install a Global Positioning System (GPS) for the monitoring of bus traffic in the city, a HCM City Transportation Management Centre official said on Thursday... The centre’s deputy director, Le Hai Phong, said the system would transmit images of traffic to servers in real time technology... It helps the centre supervise bus routes, speed and service quality, he added... 15 black-boxes are expected to be set up initially at three bus routes...
