* UAE - 90 public transport buses to be upgraded for inter emirate transport
Dubai,United Arab Emirates -AME Info (press release) -Dec 24, 2006: -- The Public Transport Agency from the Roads and Transport Authority will be upgrading 90 buses, which make up 90% of the fleet to improve the public transport services that link the city of Dubai to the other Emirates... This initiative comes in line with the entity's objective of providing smooth and safe transport to all groups of society and thus encouraging the use of public transport... In addition 170 new buses will be introduced for this service next year amounting to 281 buses, out of which 45 buses will accommodate 41 passengers and 125 two- levels buses. The new buses will be available with many services, such as hosts and hostesses on board, wireless internet, fax and telephone, and display screens as well as toilets...
