* India - Hybrid buses set to make inroads here
KOLKATA,India -Economic Times -12 Dec 2006: -- Ahmedabad-based Electrotherm India (EIL), an electric arc furnace manufacturer, who recently diversified into production of electric two-wheelers, has decided to launch battery-operated hybrid 100-passenger electric buses and three-wheeler rickshaws... It is also slated to launch high speed battery operated scooters for city applications. Such hybrid buses and three-wheeler rickshaws run on batteries and CNG... Indus Elec-Trans, the automotive division of EIL, has also launched a low-speed version of battery operated scooties under the brand name ‘Yobykes’...
