Buses Runs Late - Canada - One in five on city, report says
Riders express frustration over missed transfersOttawa,Ontario, Canada -The Ottawa Citizen, by Melissa Arseniuk & Katie Lewis -Sept 28, 2006: -- On an average weekly OC Transpo commute, chances are good your bus will be late, one time out of five... According to OC Transpo's most recent report card, Ottawa's buses were on time 81.5 per cent of the time, between January and June... In the quarterly performance report to council released yesterday, a bus that is considered to be on time can't be early or more than three minutes late... Buses on some routes are more likely to be late than others. Routes that travel across the city have the worst record -- late almost 30 per cent of the time. Express routes fare much better at 88 to 90 per cent. But there's a catch -- it costs $4 to ride an express bus, $1 more than the regular fare... (Photo by Robert Grieves)
