High-capacity buses - India - Work to finally start on dedicated lane
New Delhi,India -Delhi Newsline, by Anubhuti Vishnoi -August 23, 2006: -- Almost three years after the High Capacity Bus System (HCBS) plan was first announced in the October 2002 transport policy and nearly two years after the tenders were first invited and then scrapped for a pilot project stretch, the project has finally got moving... The transport department has awarded the contract for constructing the 16 km-long HCBS corridor from Ambedkar Nagar to Delhi Gate and the work is likely to begin by mid-September...
